Return and Refund Policy

This Return and Refund Policy explains how returns and refunds work for products and digital resources sold by AtReef Therapy PLLC, a solo private psychotherapy practice operated by Dr. Ehsan Adib Shabahang (NCC, LPC, LCMHC, LMHC), based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Important: This Policy Does Not Apply to Psychotherapy Services

This Policy applies only to products and digital resources purchased through this Website. It does not apply to psychotherapy, assessment, consultation, or any clinical service provided by AtReef Therapy PLLC.

Clinical services are time-based professional services and are not refundable once delivered. Cancellation, late cancellation, and no-show fees for clinical sessions are governed separately by the Practice Policies and Informed Consent documents signed at intake. Please refer to those documents for the rules that apply to clinical care.

What This Policy Covers

This Policy applies to:

  • Physical products sold directly through this Website (for example, signed books, printed materials, or branded items)

  • Digital products sold directly through this Website (for example, downloadable workbooks, guides, prerecorded workshops, or written resources)

  • Live or recorded educational events sold directly through this Website (for example, paid webinars, group workshops, or online courses)

It does not apply to:

  • Psychotherapy, couples therapy, family therapy, group therapy, or consultation services

  • Books or products purchased through third-party retailers (such as Amazon, Apple Books, or other booksellers); those purchases are governed by the retailer's return policy

  • App Store or Google Play purchases for any AtReef Therapy or SRRT mobile application; those purchases are governed by Apple's or Google's refund policies

Physical Products

You may request a return of an unused, undamaged physical product within fourteen (14) days of the delivery date, subject to the following:

  • The product must be returned in its original condition and packaging.

  • Shipping costs for the return are the responsibility of the buyer, unless the product was damaged in transit or sent in error.

  • Once the returned product is received and inspected, an approved refund will be issued to the original payment method within ten (10) business days.

Personalized or signed items, opened printed materials, and items marked as final sale are not eligible for return unless they arrive damaged or defective.

Digital Products

Digital products are non-refundable once accessed or downloaded.

If you have not yet accessed or downloaded a digital product and you believe it was purchased in error, you may request a refund within seven (7) days of purchase by contacting the Practice at info@atreef.com. Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method within ten (10) business days.

Live and Recorded Educational Events

For paid live events, including workshops, webinars, or group programs, the following applies unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase:

  • Refund requests received more than seven (7) days before the event start date are eligible for a full refund.

  • Refund requests received within seven (7) days of the event start date are not eligible for a refund, although a transfer or credit toward a future event may be offered at the Practice's discretion.

  • Once the event begins, no refunds are issued. Access to any recorded version included with the purchase will be honored.

For prerecorded courses, the digital products policy above applies.

Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items

If a product arrives damaged, defective, or different from what was ordered, please contact the Practice at info@atreef.com within seven (7) days of delivery, with photos of the item and packaging. A replacement, refund, or credit will be offered based on the circumstances and the availability of the item.

How to Request a Return or Refund

To start a return or request a refund, please email: info@atreef.com

Include:

  • Your full name

  • The order number or date of purchase

  • The product or event being returned or refunded

  • The reason for the request

  • For damaged items, clear photos of the item and packaging

Requests are typically reviewed within five (5) business days. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method.

Payment Processing

Refunds are issued through the same payment processor used for the original purchase (for example, Stripe via Squarespace or SimplePractice). Once a refund is issued by the Practice, processing time on the buyer's end may vary by payment method and bank, typically five (5) to ten (10) business days.

Limitations

  • Refunds are issued only to the original purchaser.

  • The Practice reserves the right to decline a refund request that does not meet the conditions of this Policy or that appears to be made in bad faith.

  • This Policy may be updated periodically; the version in effect at the time of your purchase governs that purchase.

No Surprises Act and Good Faith Estimates

The federal No Surprises Act provides protections related to billing for clinical services for self-pay and uninsured clients. Those protections are addressed on the No Surprises Act page and in the Practice Policies and Informed Consent documents provided at intake. They are not part of this Return and Refund Policy.
